Places and things I have seen

The rocks in Little Cotton Wood Canyon.  Colorful aren't they?

These two pictures were taken up in Little Cotton Wood Canyon at 5:30 in the morning.  There is a funny Story behind these pictures.  I had woken up in the wee hours of the morning that morning and couldn't get back to sleep.  So I decided it would be cool to go up to the canyon to catch the sun coming up over the mountains and snap some pictures of it.  I live with my grandma, and have two dogs, so I had to take the dog's with me so they wouldn't wake her up.  Little did I know that it is illegal to have dogs in the Cotton Wood Canyons because that is where the whole of the Salt Lake Valley gets it's water supply from.  I have lived here my entire life and no one ever told me that.  So any, I drove up the canyon a ways looking out for any signs that said no dogs aloud and didn't see any.  The problem was, that it was still dark I had forgotten me glasses, and the signs weren't very big.  At least not compared to all of the other signs up there. Thinking I was good to go I parked the car, put the dogs on their leashes and started to hike up the mountain a ways to find a good spot to snap some picks as the sun came up.  I didn't have to go very far, and took some doggy poop sacks just in case.  In a matter of minutes a Sheriffs truck had spotted me and asked me what I was doing.  I explained everything to him, but apparently he didn't care.  I am sure he has heard it all before, the only difference is that I was actually telling the truth.  Of course he gave me a ticket anyway.  Luckily I was able to snap a few shots before the cop showed up.  They weren't exactly what I was hoping for, but next time I go into the canyon to snap pictures I will remember no to take to dogs with me.  What do you think, was it worth it?

A quaint little restaurant in Amish country, and a picture of the wind mill they use as a source of power.  If you haven't even taken a trip to see the Amish countryside I highly recommend it.  It is like traveling back in time.

This is a picture taken from the window of  the airplain I was in on the way home from our trip.
Ever seen clouds in negative?  Well now you have. Pretty crazy huh?

Another shot from the window on the same flight in a place that didn't have any cloud cover.  I am not 100% sure on this, but I think that is the Mississippi river.  Not the best picture I've taken, but it is still pretty neat.

I like this one better.  It was taken on the same flight too, but show the ground and the sky.  That orange thing up in the left corner is the tip of the air plain's wing.

The above are some pictures of a memorial statue in Gettysburg.  It is one of my favorite memorial statues.
I took pictures of it at all different angles and these were my favorite shots.

I snapped this picture as we were driving along the road through Gettysburg.  I am not sure who's memorial that is, but I mainly tooth the picture because I liked the tree it is next to.  It made for a pretty majestic yet eerie looking picture.
